I have decided that scratch building is not for me. I have seen the quickbuild kits and they are fantastic. That is the route I will be taking. I have put a lot of hard work into this project and I will be sad to see it go. Someone will get an enormous jump start to their plans with these parts.
Here is the break down of what is included: 168/170 wing ribs that are 95% complete. I had to chuck 2 nose ribs. The ribs are 95% complete. The lightening holes on the nose ribs are flanged, so the rest of the ribs need their holes flanged. The Main/Rear/Flap/Aileron spars are all match bent to the ribs and are full length and uncut. I have two completed Flap Support frames (minus springs) along with 90% of the remaining wing steel kit from Wicks Aircraft(a few pieces of steel are missing, but most of it is there). Also included is a full sheet of .025 2024 still rolled. Full set of plans, wing builders manual, and Builders CD-ROM.
That's about it. $1500 takes the whole lot. This is less than the price of raw materials & plans. I do not expect to get paid for my labor so I think this price is extremely fair. Located near Charlotte, NC. If you have any questions, please email me. GuinnessGuy74@yahoo.com
Flattened out half the Nose Ribs. 1 or 2 are twisted a bit and that is hard to fix. Time: 1 Hour
Flanged the 23 right Nose Ribs tonight. Cracked two of the ribs on the smaller hole. ALWAYS debur prior to flanging!! Time: 2.5 Hours
